Turtles

The sea turtles are being endangered. I saw some beautiful turtles at Lady Elliot Island. This is a logger head and then a hawkesbill turtle. Here is a little tip: the girl has a short tail and the boy has a very long spikey tail. Can you see if these turtles are boy or girl?

Hanging out with Sea Creatures

We are just back from Lady Elliot Island. It was more than fun!

I learned very much about the sea creatures from my friends called Emma and Maggie. They were working there. Emma was Swedish! Maggie was very nice to me.

Here you can see me diving in and pointing to a Blue Lica Sea star. The colour of the Blue Lica Sea star is a warning that means: if you try to eat me you will be poisoned! But luckily the poison is only inside the sea star, so we can touch the sea star. The stripey black and white fish you saw are called Moon Wrasse. They are called Moon Wrasse because they sometimes glow.

Water Dragons at Parsley Bay.

We found Water Dragons at Parsley Bay. They only exist in clean water. They are omnivores which means that they eat anything. When they are a baby they eat insects but when they are an adult they eat more vegetables.

Crabs in Clovelly

Did you now that crabs eat other small crabs and they also eat mollusks.Crabs have 5 legs on each side which makes 10.

Sea hares in the summer

You can see that one is darker than the other. I would have guessed that the lightest was the girl , but they are both and that is called Hermaphrodite. They are the colour of what they eat.
